Appliqué Made Easy
The word, appliqué, comes from French and Latin and means to sew or attach one piece of fabric on top of another piece. In this way, appliqué quilts differ from pieced quilts which are made by sewing together numerous pieces of fabric edge-to-edge.
Appliqué Made Easy is an excellent handbook for exploring appliqué quilting. It is comprehensive and thorough, covering both hand and machine appliqué techniques. Demonstration photographs and quilt shots of appliqué work are all in vivid color. Recommended supplies are listed for each appliqué technique described. A section called "The Stitch Sampler" delineates the various stitches used to create appliqué.
CyberFibres has a special appreciation for the inclusion of an Index in a book on fibrework. Appliqué Made Easy provides the reader an Index and an Appliqué Glossary, in addition to the standard Table of Contents section. These are wonderful aids to the fibreworker who is seeking information and inspiration without the frustration of having to hunt through a poorly referenced manual.Appliqué Made Easy is it
